Takii Europe is a subsidiary of Takii & Co., Ltd. in Japan. Headquartered in De Kwakel, The Netherlands, Takii covers the European, Middle East, African and Central Asia markets of their parent company. Together with Takii France and Takii Spain Takii manages breeding stations, production sites and sales offices contributing to the supply and promotion of a wide assortment of vegetables and flower varieties to professional growers and to the home garden market. Recruitment for our European sister companies is coordinated from these headquarters.

Takii Spain is a subsidiary of Takii Europe and is situated in Murcia. Its main activity is breeding.

The Melon Breeder will be in charge of:

Setting up and developing a breeding programe to create a long-time vision based on the latest market developments.

Translating market information and market needs into breeding strategies.

Guiding and coaching junior breeders and breeder support assistants.

Planning, Carrying out and adjusting breeding programmes.

Selecting plants based on the indicated objectives and by visual evaluation.

Registering and analysing observations, results and conclusions.

Staying up to date with scientific developments with respect to breeding, market and legislature.

Giving relevant professional advice and instructions to sales and production, in coordination with the trial manager.
