Axia Vegetable Seeds |Senior Tomato Breeder
Axia is a breeding company in vegetable seeds for heated and unheated greenhouse cultivation, with or without artificial light. The company was founded in 2010. They started with a team of four and they now have more than 80 people working here. Their expert’s workday in and day out on developing and breeding new varieties. In the breeding process, they focus on taste and quality in combination with good yields. They use state-of-the-art research and development facilities to achieve this.
Establishing the breeding strategy and coordinating the implementation of screening programs for tomatoes together with sales team and/or crop specialists.
Manage budget regarding the appropriate use of resources to reach the objective.
Identify, research, and apply the best synergies around the company that enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
Setting up market targets for commercial and candidate hybrids together with sale teams.
Organizing the seed supply for hybrids that are on trail.
Developing a genetic improvement program to create new varieties.
Managing and training the breeding team, set business and development goals for each members of team.
Coordinating the genetic projects with different research groups and with other team members.
Applying the Group standards to breeding program and completing registration procedures.
Deep market knowledge to be able to make recommendations to appropriate regional crop teams.
A senior leadership role within a large group.
